Born and raised in Thornhill, Ontario, Dave Hemstad was once an Academic All-American golfer with a bright future on the greens—until a bolt of lightning literally changed the course of his life. Trading in birdies for belly laughs, Dave has spent the past 20 years touring the globe, delivering his signature brand of clean, razor-sharp comedy that hilariously dissects the quirks of everyday life.
A true triple threat—stand-up, writer, and actor—Dave has lit up the stage at Just For Laughs, the Halifax Comedy Festival, and the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, and starred in his own Comedy Now! special. A beloved regular on CBC’s The Debaters, he’s also written for Still Standing, the Canadian Screen Awards (hosted by Norm Macdonald), and racked up acting credits in series like Almost Heroes and CBS Sports’ Off The Hozzle.
When he’s not on stage or screen, Dave co-hosts the hit podcast Dr. Val Saves Dave, and his latest comedy album, DAD INTENTIONS, is streaming everywhere.
