He won the competition in his second-ever performance and represented Newfoundland in the national competition in Toronto. Since then he has gone on to receive the highest-voted video in Canada for the Russel Peters BFF comedy competition and has built a loyal online following from his many viral video rants and guest appearances in the very popular “OutHouse TV” comedy sketches.

For the past 4 years, his annual sketch and standup show “Getting To Know Me” has sold out 3 shows each year at the 900-seat, Holy Heart Theatre in St. John’s and continues to sell out shows all across the country. Making his mommy proud, Mike also has several tracks featured in Just For Laughs Originals on Sirius XM radio. He is a prolific creator and a relentless performer. In 2014, Aylward set the unofficial Comedy World Record, performing twenty-one different 10-minute sets in one day at the Haebangchon Festival in Seoul, South Korea. Based on a bet made back in 2005, Newfoundland native Brian Aylward stepped on stage for the first time at a rowdy expatriate bar in Anyang, South Korea. Aylward went on to pioneer the English stand-up comedy scene in South Korea, officially establishing Stand Up Seoul in 2009, and turning the country into a legitimate destination on the international comedy circuit. Brian has performed at many festivals around the world, including Just For Laughs 42, Halifax Comedy Fest, Hong Kong International Comedy Festival and the Magners International Comedy Festival.
