About the show
Montreal’s Derek Seguin isn’t just one of Canada’s most accomplished comedians, he’s the kind of performer who can take over a room from the moment he hits the stage.
Fast, fearless, wildly animated and brutally funny, Derek has built a reputation as an absolute must-see live act.
A staggering 11-time performer at Montreal’s prestigious Just For Laughs Festival, Derek has appeared at virtually every major comedy festival in Canada while becoming a familiar face and voice on television and radio.
Derek is also one of the most popular recurring performers on CBC Radio’s The Debaters, with more than 40 appearances and counting. He beat out comedians from across the country to capture the grand prize in SiriusXM’s Canada’s Top Comic, and his comedy album PanDerek, 1st Wave earned a JUNO Award nomination.
But credits only tell part of the story. Whether he’s tearing into politics, relationships, family life or the insanity of raising three children, Derek attacks every story with an infectious combination of physical comedy, razor-sharp observations and childlike enthusiasm.
He’s unpredictable. He’s relentless. He’s ridiculously funny. If you’ve never seen Derek Seguin live, it’s time to find out why he’s considered one of Canada’s very best.
